One of actor Nolan North’s most famous roles is that of Nathan Drake in Naughty Dog’s Uncharted franchise, but he wrapped things up with 2016’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. There are rumors that Naughty Dog is making a new Uncharted game<\/a>, and North has said he would “110%” be up for coming back in a new game in the storied series.<\/p>\n

\u201c110%. Absolutely. I think it would be one of the biggest games ever if they decided to do it. It just depends if Sony wants to make money,” he said at Gamergy in Puerto Rico<\/a> prior to the recent rumors of Uncharted 5<\/a> (via DomTheBomb<\/a>). “I absolutely would. I try to stay in shape just in case. I can’t see a scenario where I would say no. I always keep out hope.”<\/p>\n

North went on to clarify that he has not heard anything about a new Uncharted game where he might be asked to come back, but he thinks it would be a good business decision for Sony.<\/p>\n

“It is a business-my god, can you imagine if they did? It would be the biggest announcement in gaming. I don’t think that’s hyperbole. I think that’s true,” he said.<\/p>\n

North said he enjoyed working with Naughty Dog over the years on the four main Uncharted games, and that’s part of why he would be up to come back.<\/p>\n

His one caveat, however, is that he hopes Naughty Dog wouldn’t make something that doesn’t live up to the franchise’s legacy. He cited Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull as an example of a middling movie in an otherwise great series, and he doesn’t want that to happen for Uncharted.<\/p>\n

According to multiple sources, a fifth mainline Uncharted game will be Naughty Dog’s next project after Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet<\/a>, which is reportedly due for release in 2027. A third The Last of Us game<\/a> could follow after. <\/p>\n

Intriguingly, the report said Nathan Drake would appear in the hypothetical Uncharted 5 in some capacity. Uncharted 4 was positioned as the definitive end for Nathan Drake\u2019s story when it released in 2016, but Naughty Dog has repeatedly suggested that it is not done with the franchise<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

When Uncharted 5 might release is anyone\u2019s guess, but it\u2019s more likely that it\u2019ll arrive on the PlayStation 6<\/a> given that Sony is expected to release its next-generation console sometime in 2028.\u00a0<\/p>\n
