Just a month after Microsoft said Forza Horizon 6 for PlayStation 5 remained on track to release in 2026, a new report says the game has in fact been delayed to 2027. This has now been confirmed by Sony: Forza Horizon 6 will now release on January 26, 2027.

Reputable leaker billbil-kun originally said Forza Horizon 6 for PS5 was set for release on January 26, 2027, so that reporting was accurate. There will be a physical disc edition at retail, and the game will also be sold digitally.

Early access will start on January 21, for people who pay more to buy the game’s Premium Edition. Developer Panic Button made the PS5 edition; that’s the same studio behind the PS5 port of Forza Horizon 5. Playground Games and Turn 10 worked “in close collaboration” with Panic button on the ports.

Forza Horizon 6 for PS5 will have a 4K 30FPS “Quality” mode and a 60FPS “Performance” mode. The trailer above stems from the Quality mode.

All preorders for Forza Horizon 6 on PS5 include a pre-tuned Ferrari J50 that will show up in your garage after completing the prologue.

The PS5 edition will support cross-play and cross-saves with the Xbox and Steam versions. All of the Forza Horizon 6 user-generated content is available cross-platform, too.

Additionally, Microsoft announced that the first paid expansion for Forza Horizon 6 will launch on January 21, 2027. It’s included with the game’s Premium Edition, Premium Upgrade, and Expansions Bundle, or can be purchased separately (pricing was not confirmed). Microsoft did not provide any details on what’s in the paid expansion, however. It’s the first of two planned paid expansions.

Additionally, a free content update for all players on all platforms is coming to Forza Horizon 6 in 2027 for the launch of the PS5 edition and the expansion. “We will share more details about this closer to release,” the studio said.

In September, Microsoft said in a blog post that the PS5 edition of the popular racing game was due for release in 2026, but plans have changed.

Forza Horizon 6 was released in May this year for Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game, which is set in Japan, scored rave reviews, including an 8/10 from GameSpot, and PlayStation fans have had to wait for their turn to play.

The last game in the series, Forza Horizon 5, was a huge hit on PlayStation 5. In other Forza news, Microsoft recently announced that Forza developers Turn 10 and Playground are merging to become one unified studio to support and grow the brand going forward.
